Grandma & Grandpa's Visit

Summer got off to a great start this week! Grandma and Grandpa came to visit and meet baby Seth for the first time, so for the past week, he's been all smiles. Father's day, Sean took his dad and Joe and Hannah to a Giant's game in SF while Barbara, Seth, and I went shopping, when we all met up at home we had yummy bar-b-que. Monday night was supposed to be spent at the Vacaville wine bar, but it was closed. Instead, we went to the Nugget, picked up a few bottles of wine, some cheese and crackers, olives, grapes and other goodies and brought it back to our backyard for our own wine bar. Heather and Larry joined us and we spent a very relaxing evening in our own backyard. On Tuesday, the parents and I went to Suisun and visited 3 wineries there. Our favorite was Vezer, and yes, I will be going back! Thursday we ended up going back to the Vacaville wine bar (mine was much better) and to Fuzo downtown. Dinner was delicious and nice that we didn't have to go far for it.

Seth is getting bigger every day. He is more and more talkative every day too. He is still trying to eat his hands and his new thing lately is sticking out his tongue. He has rolled over twice, but I think it was because the bed was sloped and not because he is a genius. =-) He still spits up a lot, if you hold him, you'd better have some protection unless you want to change frequently! Grandma and Grandpa bought him a high chair and it is awesome! It's nice to be able to sit him up and let him watch me while I am in the kitchen. He is a big boy and he is fitting into 9 month old clothes already. Guess I should go do some more shopping! =-)

Anthony is still in 29 Palms. He was given the OK to come home for the 4th of July, now we are just waiting to see if they put him on firewatch. We should know by Monday if he can come home. He finally has internet up and running in his room! Saturday we stayed home and spent the afternoon on the webcam. He was in his room watching movies (and us) and we were watching t.v. and him! It's like we spent the day together. He got some bad news, he won't be coming home until possibly November now. They are backed up in the school so he has to stay down there untill there is an opening for him. I was really, really upset about this. =-(

Joseph went to Disneyland with Dallas and his family this weekend and Hannah has been spending lots of time with her friends this summer vacation. It is a hot weekend, and yesterday it was 109 and today should be 106! Needless to say we will be spending the day inside! That's it for now! Thanks for checking in on us!

Seth's Doctor's appointment

2 Month Check-Up 6/11/09 with "Dr. Dimples"

Weight: 14.4 oz

Height: 24 1/4 inches

Head Circ.: 15.94 inches

Seth is in the 91.56% for weight, 85.81% for length, and 55.88% for head circumference. He is cooing and gooing all the time. He tries to giggle but ends up choking on his saliva. Too cute. He holds his head up really well when you hold him and when pulled up he stands up! He is a happy baby and 2 nights ago on the 15th he slept 7 hours straight at night and did last night too! He spits up a lot, but he doesn't appear uncomfortable, and he is a happy baby, so his doctor said "He's just a happy spitter upper!" He got his shots in both little chunky thighs. He didn't like the shot nurse......neither did I. He was rough with my monkey. We are having so much fun with Seth! He is such a good baby!

Seth's New Girlfriend

Seth and Mommy went to go see a friend in West Sac. today. Lauren's little girl Emily is 6 months old and super cute! We had a great time having lunch and took a nice walk to get frozen yogurt, yum!

More Pictures!

Here are some of Seth I took today!

Update

Good morning! Just thought I would update you all on things here in Vacaville. It is Wednesday and I am having my morning cup of coffee. (I know, exciting update isn't it?) Joseph and Hannah are off on Summer Vacation! The weather here has been mild for June. In the 70's and 80's. Where is the heat???? Anthony is spending his last week at Camp Pendleton. Yesterday he had to dig a fox hole with another Marine. He also had to do a 15k hike. Apparently there was another guy who had fallen 3 platoons behind and needed some help so Anthony pulled him up the hill. That's teamwork! He graduates from combat training on Tuesday and goes to 29 Palms directly after that. I think that is where all the heat is! We go to pick him up from down south the end of July, and then he will be home! We can't wait to have him home for good. Seth, is on the couch kicking me at the moment, I think he wants some attention, so goodbye for now!

Joseph's 8th grade promotion

I can't believe Joseph is going into high school! I can remember so clearly his first day of school. He was given the President's Award for Educational Excellence for Outstanding Academic Excellence. This award was given to a handful of kids who had to meet criteria like a high GPA as well as high STAR test results. We are so proud!

The real Seth in Crib!

Look how excited he is when he looks at the mobile! Then he stops kicking to look at me with the camera! He is 9 weeks old in this video!
